“When she got there, there he was begging for love,” Hall recounted on Facebook. “Mary said to me, ‘He is so tired, he looks like he wants to surrender.’ Mary was right; he was ready.”
Multiple attempts to capture Rusty ensued, until finally, his fear subsided. With a sense of relief, Lorena and Mary scooped him into their arms. Rusty, weary but trusting, surrendered to their gentle touch.
“Tangled, covered in oil and so matted, he was finally safe,” Hall declared, her words echoing the immense relief of everyone involved.

Hall, arriving at the scene shortly after Rusty’s capture, whisked him away to Camino Pet Hospital. There, a team of dedicated professionals provided him with a comprehensive medical evaluation and a much-needed makeover.
Rusty’s matted fur, caked with motor oil, was carefully shaved away. A gentle bath revealed a handsome dog underneath, his true self finally visible. Thankfully, aside from the neglected fur, Rusty was in good health.
With fluids administered, nutritious meals devoured, and endless cuddles from the loving staff, Rusty’s physical and emotional well-being began to flourish. He was ready for the next chapter of his life – a loving, forever home.
His wait was blessedly brief. A wonderful family adopted Rusty, showering him with love and care. Rusty’s life had taken a dramatic turn for the better.
“He had lived at that shop but never really had a home or knew what a home felt like,” Hall wrote in a heartwarming Facebook update. “Well, his dreams of having a family and his very own home [have] come true. He has been adopted by the best family there could ever be.”
